Dear Jack,

As I write this, you are playing away on your play mat, watching the light show, listening to the music, and occasionally talking to the baby in the mirror.  It’s only a matter of time until you want my attention, so this is going to be a quick post!

It has been a fun couple of weeks as we see the leaves fall from the trees, enjoy the last bit of Indian Summer, and alternately feel excitement and dread for the coming cold weather.  You are growing so quickly, and learning new tricks everyday it seems!  Now you are smiling, laughing, responding to toys more, occasionally grabbing things, and the most exciting thing, actually waving good-bye!  While I am so happy to see you progressing well, every new little thing leaves me a little sad, too, as I would probably gladly keep you this age forever!  You are so happy, cuddly, and easy to please.

Right now you love to listen to jazz, which we play during bath time, & watch football games with Dad.  (I really hope we don’t get any angry comments from Cowboys fans . . .)

Even if the Bears aren't doing all that well, at least you look super cute in orange & blue.

We are starting to make friends and go on playdates together.  We hosted a “Family Playdate” at the Bohemian Hall & Beer Garden.  Here is a picture of you that day:

Ready to play!

You really enjoyed the music & excitement of the day, and you love to see all the other babies.  You just look & look, wide-eyed.  We even had a celebrity at our event!  Ke$ha is the sister-in-law of one of the moms in my moms group, & she hung-out with us.  Am I not in the coolest mommies group ever??

And here are a couple pictures of you that I just took, playing on your playmat.

It has been a great, busy couple of weeks, & we can’t wait until Halloween!  We’ll see you all next week–happy Halloween!
